"You don't seem to me to be in too much trouble," remarked Amanda to the Winsome Witch.

"And you don't seem to me to be much
Of a rescuer - so fresh from the clutch
Who released you this young from the hutch?"

replied the Winsome Witch.

"Hmph!" exclaimed Amanda. "Just because I'm young, and you're what? 5000 years old or something. I came in here to rescue you when not one of the Blue Faeries was brave enough to do so."

"Right you are, young miss, indeed
There are many should follow your lead
Come now, sit and have some mead."

The Winsome Witch produced another tall glass of her fine brew, seemingly from nowhere, and held it out to Amanda.

"I meant no lack of high esteem
Only that things aren't always what they seem
You're most welcome on my team."

Amanda took a seat where the witch indicated but refused the drink.

"No. Thank you very much, but I don't think I am allowed to drink that stuff," Amanda explained.

"That leaves all the more for me then
Imprisoned here within the Tree Trolls' den
I find for mead I've gained quite a strong yen."

Amanda smiled knowingly, afraid that the Winsome Witch's prediliction for strong drink might not be in the best interests of their efforts to escape from Twilight Tanglewood. It was a bit late to worry about that now though. She had to get back to school, and help the faeries to return to Raindancer World. To do that, she had to rescue the Winsome Witch from the Tree Trolls' clutches, and she wasn't even sure what was keeping the witch imprisoned here yet.
