Fruit Loops

If Wyrd Sisters fans are "Wyrdos", FRUiT fans are ... "FRUiT Loops"?!
I suppose I've been called worse.

Thankfully for my wallet, following an Australian band around isn't nearly as expensive for a southern Ontario gal like me as one might expect as FRUiT tours frequently through my neck of the woods.

  1. June 25-27, 2004 - Thundering Women Festival (5 sets), Chippewa Park (Thunder Bay, Ontario)
It's a long haul to Thunder Bay from London but well worth the drive for this festival (and not nearly as far as FRUiT travelled to get there)! Snapped some photos of their closing ceremonies performance of "Sunsets and Hurricanes".
  2. July 25, 2004 - Hillside Music Festival (3 sets, plus an extra jam for Mel), Guelph Lake Island (Guelph, Ontario)
Only made it out to Hillside for one day this year, but it was a great one which featured the FRUiT trio three times. Plus, Mel performed in Dave Clark's insane "Twelve Lane Highway" jam, which is always a wild ride.
  3. July 8-10, 2005 - Mariposa Folk Festival (6 sets, plus an extra guest appearance with SweetWater Women), Tudhope Park (Orillia, Ontario)
Even though Orillia is less than a four hour drive from London, this was my first time out to Mariposa. The event conflicts with a major music festival in London but, well, FRUiT was at Mariposa!
  4. July 26, 2005 - "Burn" CD Release Party, Hugh's Room (Toronto, Ontario)
Actually, every gig at Hugh's Room is a party. Fellow Aussie Emma Wall opened for the trio, then Susie, Sam and Mel came onstage and performed for almost two hours without a break!
